Once a month, with the exception of July and August, SAL organizes support groups for caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s disease or another neurocognitive disorder in several municipalities across the Laurentians region.

These two-hour sessions are free of charge. They are facilitated by an experienced psychosocial worker who can answer participants’ questions and suggest ways to address the challenges they are facing.

These discussions allow participants to:

Share their experiences with others in similar situations
Learn about the progression of the disease and its impact on the person affected
Develop better ways to provide support
Learn how to take care of themselves in order to prevent burnout and meet their own needs

Registration is required at 1-800-978-7881.

Available throughout the region, this service allows them to express their needs, verbalize their emotions, and receive support. These meetings can take place at their home or at SAL offices.

This service is free and available by appointment only.
